# Fulfillment status codes

Shipup uses pre-defined fulfillment status codes in order to display the progress of the fulfillment before the package is handed to a shipping carrier.

Those statuses are to be communicated to Shipup using the <code>fulfillment.status\_code</code> field.

Those statuses are also used to send pre-shipment notifications. A pre-shipment notification can be sent for each change of status. Note that you need to provide the <code>order.ordered\_at</code> field if you want to be able to send those notifications.
